Illawarra Mercury - Shoalhaven prevail over Bowral in Illawarra rugby second grade decider Agron Latifi

Shoalhaven accounted for gutsy Bowral to win the Illawarra District Rugby Union second-grade grand final at Collegians Sporting Complex.

The 30-15 victory ensured the Shoals went one better than their 2023 campaign, when beaten by Avondale in the decider.

Unsurprisingly the superstar that is Mark Brandon was named man-of-the-match.

Brandon has been playing second-grade this season due to work and family commitments preventing him from playing in the top grade.

His class showed in the decider, with Brandon contributing half his team's points courtesy of a try, two conversions and two penalty goals.

Shoalhaven will be looking to add a third straight first-grade title to their name when they battle Kiama in the first-grade decider from 3pm.

Stay tuned to the Mercury website for all the colour and excitement form the first-grade grand final.
